Half Way through 1st Semester!

We have reached the half way mark of first semester. Most of our students have mastered SS6G8 - SS6G11, whose topics include the physical geography, environmental concerns, and the dominant religions and languages of Europe. History standards SS6H6-H7 have also been covered. These standards take us, rather quickly from the Age of Exploration to the Age of Imperialism, through WWI, WWII, and the Cold War. Students will need to be able to make connections throughout these time periods. This will only happen if/when they study. Many students have openly admitted that they are not studying. The Midterm exam is scheduled for Thursday, October the 8th (as posted on last week’s blog). Please make sure that your students are studying. I will be posting some additional notes to the wiki tonight for those students who are actually studying and utilizing the resource. Parents we must continue to work together, as we are half way through first semester I still have many children who are failing. Last Friday all student who were missing homework worksheets were reissued these assignments are due Wednesday. I will not be accepting any more late worksheets after that date (from the 1st half of the semester).

As mentioned last week, permission slips will be issued for the Breman house this week. Students who have repeated behavioral issues will not be issued permission slips. This field trip is of very sensitive nature and requires great maturity and RESPECT. Please speak with your students about the significance of this trip.
